You Can Crust Me - Super Easy Bread, Fast!
First things first, the recipe...so you don’t have to read a bunch of stuff you may not care to read (but if you want to see the cutest Elsa help make this bread, I would keep scrolling after the recipe!).
INGREDIENTS
4 cups flour (I use White Lily Bread Flour)
1 tsp salt
2 tsp active yeast
1 egg
2 tbsp honey
1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
2 cups warm water
DIRECTIONS
Mix all ingredients in a bowl, either by hand or with a mixer. Dough will be sticky, just ensure everything is mixed well. Cover bowl and let sit for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Butter a 9x5 loaf pan.
Pour dough into pan.
Bake for 60 minutes.
Let loaf cool before removing from pan.
This bread is super easy to make, and is perfect on its own or as sandwich bread. This has been my go to recipe for the past couple of years, and it’s simple enough to let the littles help! Isla Rose loved being able to help cook, almost as much as she loved eating it!
One tip I picked up along the way makes measuring sticky ingredients, like honey, much easier…level out your dry ingredients, and press the back of your measuring spoon or cup into the flour. This will make a hole the size of your measurement, and you can simply pour your sticky ingredient directly into the space!
Another thing that makes baking your own bread more enjoyable is the holder/slicer pictured! Before using it, I would absolutely butcher an entire loaf just trying to evenly slice bread for a sandwich. That issue is non existent with this! Every slice is perfect and even, and it folds and stores flat when not in use, and comes with the serrated knife that attaches magnetically to the side…10/10 will always recommend! Even better, I found it on Amazon, and you can grab one at the link below:
